Junior Accountant

About the job

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Degree (honours would be a plus).
• Master's degree would be a plus.
• Strong accounting skills and technical knowledge of financial reporting matters.
• Started (or willing to start) the qualification process as a Chartered Accountant (or similar qualifications).
• IT literate, ideally with some experience using accounting packages and excellent Excel spreadsheet skills.
• Highly professional attitude when working on challenging assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
• Self-motivated with strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Fluent in a second language (a plus).

The Role:

You will be an integral part of a dynamic team consisting of 3-4 highly skilled colleagues, working closely together on a diverse portfolio of corporate clients. As a valued member of the team, you will report directly to a partially qualified Chartered Accountant (Senior Associate) and you will be involved in the following activities:

Bookkeeping Work:

• Perform bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
• Maintain financial records and document transactions in a timely manner.

VAT Returns and Computations:

• Prepare VAT returns and computations, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Review and reconcile VAT-related transactions and records.

Financial Reporting:

• Assist senior colleagues in the preparation of comprehensive infra-annual Management Accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Assist senior colleagues in the preparation of Reporting Packages for clients, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Assist senior colleagues in the preparation year-end Accounts, including financial statements and disclosures, adhering to accounting principles.
• Assist senior colleagues in the preparation of Corporation Tax Returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

(Optional) Tax/Accounting Advisory Work:

• Support senior colleagues in tax and accounting advisory work as required.
• Assist in researching and analysing complex tax and accounting issues.
